The Difficult First Blog Post

Hello and welcome to my portfolio / blog / corner of the internet where I try and show off my best project work to whoever is interested.

I'll start with a little about myself. I am a software developer based in Wales and am interested in all things tech, I like making apps and games, electronics, Arduino and Raspberry Pi, making music, 3D printing, all sorts of stuff. I have a YouTube channel which was briefly popular which I occasionally post videos to, though sadly not often enough to satisfy Youtube's algorithm. I started getting into tech about 5 years ago when I started a bootcamp right after Covid was winding down. I'd spent years working in technical theatre before that as well as a stint as a full time eBay seller and was looking for a new direction, one that didn't involve haggling with weirdos at car boot sales every Sunday morning, or sleeping in Premier Inns for 200 nights of the year. Happily working in tech ticked all those boxes and I've been fortunate to have had some pretty decent employers since making the leap into the tech world, as well as some interesting client projects to work on.

So what is the blog about?

Well, primarily it is going to be about my life in the tech space, stuff I'm working on, and things I've done or learned. Honestly, I don't really know yet, I'm just planning to write around the things that interest me, and hopefully will interest some of you too.

Well thats the difficult first post over, hopefully the next one will be a bit more interesting and a bit less rambing. Incidentally for those who are interested this blog is using TipTap behind the scenes to add rich text elements, a package I've not used before but wish I had as its really very good. I'll talk more in a future post about the tech stack used for this site, but for now. Bye.
